Matrix Plastics offers customers a unique research and development program that supports the most innovative plastic project requirements using state-of-the-art equipment at its site in Slough, UK.

     At Matrix Plastics, we provide our customer partners with a full-circle development package. You can leverage our experience, expertise and innovation, and utilise the latest technology and methods, to support all of your plastic project requirements, including designing and developing materials, and pre-production test moulding. Our research and development program includes material selection, modified formulations, additives and innovative colours, along with the capability to offer cleanroom injection moulding (for development purposes) using the very latest KraussMaffei equipment. This all takes place within our purpose-built medical compounding and masterbatch unit in Slough, Berkshire, UK.

What R&D support services do we provide?
     Our flexible and personalised approach to research and development means we work with you to ensure the most complex of R&D needs are met. Some features of our tailored R&D service include:

  • No minimum order quantities on production of raw materials

  • ISO 13485 ‘medical device’ compliant quality systems

  • Certified Class 7 cleanroom environment for compounding and injection moulding of materials and components

  • Full reporting to update you on your development project, including trials and test being recorded and sent if you’re not available to attend the site in person

  • GMP compliance

We source and process specialist additives to provide additional material properties where required, for example UV stabilisers, mould releasers, anti-statics, blowing agents, impact modifiers, odour control masterbatches, antivirals, biocides and antimicrobials.
