Matrix uses a wide range of pigments; all products are formulated without heavy metals such a Cadmium or lead.
Some engineering thermoplastics are difficult to colour using totally organic pigments, mainly due to heat stability. On these occasions the customer is advised that high heat pigments have been selected in the formulation. We transport all our plastic and paper waste to the nearby UK Waste plant. There UK Waste convert the material to mixed pulp and deliver it to Slough Heat & Power for conversion to electricity
The power station then feeds the electricity directly to our factory – reducing landfill costs and generating cost efficient electricity.
Matrix realises and accepts the responsibilities placed upon us to provide a sustainable and environmentally accountable business.
Our principles mean we will :
In addition to our obligations under environmental legalisation, we also recognise our wider obligations to reduce the impact our business has on the environment
Therefore, it is a policy of Matrix Plastics Limited to seek ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We will achieve this through finding methods of reducing both our use of energy and production of waste. Ultimately, we recognise that by following our policy of good environmental practice, we will not only reduce our environmental impact, but also become more efficient in our service to our customers.
To achieve these joint objectives we will set targets for improvement and have plans to support our objectives.
We will encourage our staff, suppliers and customers to suggest ways in which we can reduce our impact on the environment and will, where practical, adopt these within our own plans and objectives.
In addition we will offer support and advice to our clients suppliers and colleagues in order to assist them in reducing environmental impact.
